Eligibility

Cheongna Dalton School (CDS) admits students of any gender, race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at CDS. The School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation or any other legally protected status in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and other school administered programs.

To be eligible for admission, candidates for admission to CDS must meet at least one of the following two as set forth by the Korean Ministry of Education and Science and Technology.

  1. At least one of the parents should hold a foreign passport.
  2. Student must have been out of the country of Korea for more than 1,095 days at the time of enrollment.

Please wire/transfer the non-refundable application fee of 300,000 won under your child’s name.

Once you complete Step 1 and 2, you will receive an email from the admissions office.

Step 03. Submit Supporting Documents

2. Proof of Eligibility

  • Foreign passport holders:
    - Copy of Certificate of Family Relations
    - Copy of Birth Certificate (student only)
    - Copy of Alien Registration Card (parents)
  • Korean passport holders: copy of Certificate of Entry and Exit (student only) needed

3. Agreement Forms

  • Parent Agreement Form
  • Refund Policy Agreement Form
  • Waiver of Liability Form

4. Transcripts

(submit official, sealed transcripts or report cards) - by courier

  • Transcripts in a language other than English or Korean must be translated to English and the original must be submitted with the translation.
  • First Program : past two years, including year in progress.
  • Middle and High school : past three years, including year in progress.

5. Recommendation Letters

(submit them using the CDS Confidential Recommendation Forms)

6. Official Results from Most Recent Standardized Tests

  • Official Results from Most Recent Standardized Tests (e.g. FP- MAP, ERB, ISEE, STAR, MS/HS- e.g. MAP, Stanford 10, STAR, Iowa, Terra Nova, CAT, SSAT, PSAT, SAT, ACT etc.) where applicable.

7. Medical Forms

  • Medical History Forms filled out by parents (2 pages)
  • Report of Medical Exam filled out by a physician (1 page)

Step 04. Admission Department Review

Admissions department will review for an interview/test opportunity for the applicant. If a student is given an interview / test opprtunity, the admissions department will contact the perspective student to set an interviewing and/or testing date.

Step 05. Interview and/or testing

Interviewing and testing days will be set according to the availability of the parents and students. Please note that affording the student an opportunity to interview and test does not guarantee placement at CDS.

Step 06. Enrollment Decision

Following the completion of the testing/interview and review of the final documents, a decision on enrollment will be made. Enrollment decision is based on the documents, interview or test result and the placement availability.When accepted, all tuition and other fees must be paid by the designated due date. Failing to meet the deadline will result in forfeiting a student’s enrollment. If fees and/or tuition will be paid by a sponsoring organization, the school requires written documentation from the organization.
